Lighting & Outlets, in practice
Recessed lighting is a layout question before it is an electrical one. Cans placed on a grid light the floor; cans placed relative to the work surfaces, the walls and the way the room is used light the room. We will lay it out with you before anything is cut.
LED flicker and buzz is nearly always a dimmer mismatch rather than a bad fixture. Matching the dimmer to the driver is a two-dollar decision that decides whether you like the lighting you just paid for.

FAQ
Lighting & Outlets — questions
Can recessed lights be added to an existing ceiling?
Yes, in most ceilings. Remodel-style cans and slim LED wafers are made for it: a hole is cut, the fixture clips into the drywall, and the wire is fished from an existing circuit or a switch. An attic above makes it simple; a finished floor above means more fishing and sometimes a small patch. Insulation-contact rated fixtures are used wherever there is insulation.
Why does my house not have enough outlets, and can more be added?
Older houses were wired for a different life — one outlet per wall, sometimes fewer. Adding outlets is routine: a new circuit from the panel for a kitchen or a workshop, or extending an existing one for a bedroom. Kitchens, bathrooms, garages and outdoors need GFCI protection by code, and that is added at the same time.
